Why am I being charged a pre-authorisation fee?

Mer reserves a pre-authorisation fee of £45.00 for each charging session, this is to verify that the card is working and that sufficient funds are available to cover the payment. This does not cost you anything and the charge never leaves your bank account and may temporarily show as a pending payment. This charge is held by your bank, not Mer and therefore how long it is held depends on your bank provider.
