Sustainability at Mer

Our mission to be good for the world is a core part of our DNA.

Electric Car Driving

Sustainable by Nature.

Backed by Statkraft’s 125-year legacy in renewables, we give customers and partners the chance to be part of Europe’s most sustainable EV solutions.

We believe in EV solutions that must be sustainable beyond their primary purpose: to charge low-carbon vehicles with clean energy.

We are passionate about our solutions but also our environment, balancing where we need to go with what is right to do for our business and for our planet.

Sustainability Strategy

Sustainability at Mer

We have incorporated sustainability into our business strategy and some of our initiatives include:

  • Being carbon neutral by calculating and offsetting our emissions, but this is only the beginning for us as we establish carbon reduction goals
  • One Charger One Tree initiative –  we are planting a tree for every new public charger we install
  • We have published our first sustainability report
  • Providing recyclable charge tags
  • ISO 14001:2015 Environmental management system certificate. This certificate demonstrates our commitment to continual improvement and sustainable business performance.
  • Using FSC or recycled paper and envelopes

Statkraft Backing

Statkraft, our owner, is not new to clean energy, they have been producing renewable energy for over a century. Statkraft develops, owns, and operates wind, solar, hydro, and greener-grid projects.

Statkraft and Mer believe that renewable energy is both a solution to climate change and more economical than conventional fossil fuel energy. Statkraft’s strong credit has enabled many third-party projects to gain finance for their new build projects, saving 70 billion tonnes of CO2 over their life in the UK alone.

Mer, with the help of other Statkraft businesses, can create packages of charging, storage, and electricity maximising convenience and cost savings.
