Flexible Funding Models for Commercial Charging
Two simple ways to deliver EV charging on your site – fully managed by Mer, or funded by you with ongoing operational support.
Fully funded
No upfront cost. We install, operate and maintain the chargers, sharing the revenue generated on your site.
Customer funded
You fund the installation. We manage the chargers while you retain the charging revenue.

Installing EV charging on commercial land requires planning, coordination and technical expertise. Our team manages the full journey – from early feasibility through to operation – to ensure a smooth, future-ready installation.
Our specialists conduct multiple simulations that account for local traffic patterns, duration of stay, nearby facilities, and additional elements to assess suitability. Leveraging this information, our evaluation offers a tailored, efficient, and budget-friendly solution for a customised public charging infrastructure at your location(s).
Following our initial proposal, we analyse your site(s) in-depth via a site survey. To avoid straining your power supply, we provide a dedicated power supply and take care of the project. We advise on the right strategy for your site(s), including the number of bays and the efficient use of your land. We act responsibly by proposing the right number of chargers to avoid stranded/unused assets and unsustainable practices. We present a view of what the infrastructure will look like when it is physically installed. We partner with innovative chargers’ manufacturers and select the most suitable and reliable hardware for your sites.
Once the contract has been agreed upon, our pre-construction team takes over. Their work involves ensuring minimal disruption to your site(s). They work with customers to find the right location for the infrastructure. They apply for a Point of Connection with a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) to secure a sperate power connection. We check the environmental aspects of the project and accessibility and stay abreast of upcoming regulations. Meanwhile, we guide you through and control the legal processes, including landowner consent, followed by an installation window agreement.
The delivery phase and on-site work take place, and the hardware can now be placed at your site. The trajectory of the install depends on third parties’ timescale, such as planning and DNO. We make sure your site is future-proof and replace the hardware throughout the contract to maximise uptime.
We manage your EV charging infrastructure through our charger management software. Some of the functions include self-healing capabilities and charger error notifications to ensure reliability and quickly solve issues.
Our maintenance plans come with a 24/7 UK based personable customer service experience, so drivers can get help at any time.

Commercial Real Estate EV Charging FAQs
Get clear answers to the questions commercial landlords ask most when planning EV charging for their sites.
Most commercial sites benefit from a mix of fast (7–22kW) chargers for long-stay parking and rapid or ultra rapid (50–400kW) units for visitor turnover. The right blend depends on dwell time, grid capacity and footfall patterns.
Requirements vary by charger type and number of bays. Many landlords start with a smaller power allocation and use load balancing to avoid costly upgrades while still supporting multiple chargers.
Most commercial EV charger installations fall under permitted development. Larger hub-style deployments, canopy structures or significant electrical works may require planning. Mer can support this assessment.
Mer offers fully funded and customer-funded models. Fully funded means we cover installation and management costs; customer-funded provides full ownership but support with operations.
Simple installations can be completed in weeks. Larger commercial deployments or sites requiring grid upgrades will take longer. Mer provides timeline estimates after survey.
By combining scalable hardware, modular layouts and dynamic load management, landlords can start with a small number of chargers and expand as demand grows without major redesign
Yes. EV charging supports clean transport goals, boosts ESG reporting, and is increasingly expected within high-value commercial developments. Many landlords see improved tenant acquisition and retention as a result.
Mer manages operation, monitoring and maintenance through its Operator Portal, ensuring reliability for tenants and visitors.
Many landlords choose a hybrid model—public fast/rapid charging for visitors plus dedicated charging for tenants or fleets. Mer will recommend the right mix based on revenue potential and usage patterns.
