How To Charge With Mer
Mobile App
Download the Mer Connect UK app, register or pay-as-you-go.
You don’t need to have an account with us to charge with the app.
Driver Portal/Map
Consult our charging map and/or start a charge from your internet browser with the Driver Portal. Find the charge point, select it and follow the instructions in the Portal.
Charge Card
Register with us to order one in the Mer App or Driver Portal for a one-time £10 fee. Our charge cards are small, recyclable tags.
Contactless
Contactless is available on specific public charge points with a speed of 50kW+. Simply follow the instructions on the charger and request your receipt here.
How To Use Mer Charging Points
With Mer, you have the choice to charge as a guest user or a registered user.
Once registered, you will be billed as you charge on the payment card you registered with.

Charge Point User GuidesRegistered User
- App/Driver Portal: Click on ‘Sign up’ and follow the instructions in the App/Driver Portal. As a registered user, you will have access to charging, your charging history, billing overview, and much more. Your login details will work across the App and the Driver Portal.
- Charge Card: Create an account on the App/Driver Portal to order your card. Activate your new card on the App/Driver Portal using the 8-digit code on the front, then follow the instructions on the charger to begin your charge.
Pay-As-You-Go
- App/Driver Portal: No need to sign up – click on ‘Find a Charge Point’ and select the charger you require. Enter your card details and email address to receive a receipt once the session has ended.
- Contactless payment: Follow the instructions on the charger and request a receipt here.
If paid via Apple Pay or Google Pay, enter the last 4 numbers of the virtual card stored within your phone wallet rather than the last 4 numbers on the physical card to obtain the receipt. To find the virtual numbers of your card, follow the instructions below:
Apple Pay
1. Open wallet within phone
2. Select the card used for purchase
3. Select options (top right corner) & card number
4. The apple pay number is displayed below the physical card number
Google Pay
1. Open wallet within phone
2. Select the card used for purchase
3. Select options
4. The virtual account number is displayed at the top
