Mer’s Sustainability Strategy

We work with like-minded customers and partners and believe in EV solutions that must be sustainable beyond their primary purpose: to charge low-carbon vehicles with clean energy. We are passionate about our solutions but also our environment, balancing where we need to go with what is right to do for our business and our planet.

Road surrounded by green trees

Our sustainability management is based on three key principles:

Risk-based: We aim to reduce the harm our activities cause to nature, people, and communities. We focus our efforts where the risk is greatest.

Shared value: We seek to maximise the positive impact of our activities on nature, people, and societies.

Business integrated: We take a systematic approach, integrating environmental, climate, social, and human rights considerations into key company activities and processes.

Our Contributions to the SDGs

We actively work to support the United Nations Sustainable development goals (SDGs), and share the view that business has a key role to play in delivering on and contributing to the goals. We support all defined SDGs, but mainly aim to contribute to these selected goals through our operations.

Sustainably Backed by Statkraft

Statkraft, our owner, is not new to clean energy, they have been producing renewable energy for over a century. It develops, owns, and operates wind, solar, hydro, and greener-grid projects. Statkraft and Mer, believe that renewable energy is both a solution to climate change and more economical than conventional fossil fuel energy. Statkraft’s strong credit has enabled many third-party projects to gain finance for their new build projects, saving 70 billion tonnes of CO2 over their life in the UK alone.
