Mer reserves a pre-authorisation fee of £45.00 for each charging session, this is to verify that the card is working and that sufficient funds are available to cover the payment. This does not cost you anything and the charge never leaves your bank account and may temporarily show as a pending payment. This charge is held by your bank, not Mer and therefore how long it is held depends on your bank provider. If you have any questions or concerns about billing, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at hello.uk@mer.eco and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Your actual charge speed is based on several factors including battery size, vehicle charge rate, charger speed, the weather, and more. For example, a charge point may advertise speeds of 22 kWh – but this doesn’t necessarily mean this is what you’ll receive. Find out more in our blog here.
